Situated on the north west coast of Cumbria, Silloth on Solway Golf Club is blessed with stunning views of the Galloway Hills to the north, and south to the Lakeland fells and the distant Isle of Man. The Championship links of over 6,600 yards has been laid out over the sand-hills west of town, touched by some of the great classical golf architects, but mostly moulded by Nature herself. The links is an R & A Regional Qualifying Courses for the Open.

Hazards consist of heather and bent; whin and broom; heroic bunkers and sandy wastes. Fairways are always wider than they seem from the tee, and having been laid with springy Cumberland turf, invite courageous fairway woods and crisp iron shots. Greens are subtle, firm, fast, and deadly true. Challenges met, visitors can enjoy the busy and atmospheric clubhouse, a meal made with local produce; a wine or beer from the selection at Bar where there is usually also a guest beer, and above all, a warm Cumbrian welcome.

Unsurprising that Silloth on Solway ranks within Golf World's top fifty UK courses and is at the very top of the list in terms of customer value.
NEWSFLASH
Silloth on Solway Golf Club has again hosted the 2007 R & A Regional Open Championship Qualifier, also the English Ladies Close Amateur Strokeplay Championship. In 2009 the club will also host the EGU Mid Amateur Championship for the Logan Trophy.

In their review of Britain and Irelands top courses for 2006, GOLF MONTHLY have placed Silloth on Solway in a fantastic 31st place. Their tribute said "Silloth contains a perfect blend of exciting tees, blind shots, a proportionate amount of hazarding and images that stimulate the golfing mind from tee to tee". Cumbria's number one golf course is now one of the top ten links courses in England.

In addition, GOLF WORLD put the Silloth links in 48th place describing us as "the least talked about classic course in Britain".
